IMO it would be much easier to drive with lower gearing on a road course...... The things to think about are.... lower gearing mutiplies torque lower gearing puts you into a higher rpm quicker, resulting in going into boost faster. lower gearing causes all the gears to be closer together :) Very rare to hurt TT axles. Yes it can happen, but they are larger diameter then any domestic axles. On a road course you would never break a TT axle. It is actually easier on the trans to have lower gearing because there is less load. How well first gear works at any power level is directly related to the tires. With most street tires a T05 car would be useless in first gear with stock gearing. If you put a MT ET Street drag radial or good road race tire on you could easily use first gear with the 4.10 gears. I have a sheet at the shop with the speed the car will go at every RPM level with stock and 4.10 gears for both auto and stick.
